A book tracker that doesn't stop at the book.
RUNU tracks the book — its status, your page, the date you finished it. It also keeps the reading that happened around it: the sessions you recorded, how your progress moved, and what you thought once it was over.
Not yet on the App Store or Google Play. The waitlist is how you hear first.
One book, followed from the shelf to the record it leaves behind.
Reader data on this page — pages, sessions, dates and percentages — is one illustrative example, not a real reader's library.
Library · Want to Read
A book can live here before you read it.
Search a title or author, pick the edition you own, and give it a status. Want to Read is where most books start — a record of what's next, with no promise about when. Custom shelves group them however you actually think about books.

Currently Reading
Then you read.
The status changes to Reading, and the page number starts moving. Start a session, read, and end it on a page: RUNU keeps its date, its duration and the pages you advanced. Your percentage comes from the page you told RUNU you reached — it is never guessed.

Duration and pages are worked out from where the session started and where it ended — RUNU stores the reading, not a guess about it.
One session
A book tracker says 73%. This says how.
Each session is its own dated record against the book. You can add a session you forgot, correct one that went wrong, or read without starting one at all — the timer is optional, and a book with no sessions is still perfectly tracked.
Sessions are also what makes a reading log out of a book log: a dated trail of when you read this book, kept beside it.
How the timer itself works — starting, ending, adding one by hand: see the reading timer.
100%
Most book trackers stop here.
The book is finished, and a conventional tracker has nothing left to say about it. In RUNU, everything that happened while you were reading it is still attached to the book: eight recorded sessions across thirteen days, 7h 37m of reading, 476 pages, your rating and review, and the Margin you left on a Sunday.

★★★★★
"Read the last hundred pages in one sitting and regretted nothing."
Margin saved · 22 Feb
"Didn't expect a book about physics to make me cry on a Sunday."
Finishing the book shouldn't erase the reading.
Reading Journey
The book is finished. It still belongs to your story.
Your Journey is chronological: the books you start, the books you finish, and the Margins you save. This book takes its place among the others, between one February evening and the next book you pick up.
Recorded sessions are kept in their own session history, so the Journey stays a readable story rather than a log.

Book by book
What you can track about one book.
Everything listed here is a record you create in RUNU, not something inferred about you.
- The book itself
- Search by title or author, pick the edition you own, and keep it in your library and on custom shelves.
- Status
- Want to Read, Reading, Finished, Paused or Abandoned — including books you haven't started.
- Progress
- The page you've reached, and the percentage RUNU works out when the edition's page count is known.
- Reading sessions
- Timed sessions ended on a page, each with its date, duration and the pages you advanced. Optional, always.
- Session history
- The full dated trail for each book, with manual entry for sessions you forgot and corrections for ones that went wrong.
- Dates
- When you started a book and when you finished it — the spine of your Reading Journey.
- Rating & review
- Your own star rating and written review for each book you finish.
- Margins
- Private notes, quotes and reflections you write by hand beside a book.
- Statistics & goals
- Finished books, monthly finishes, genre breakdowns and session summaries — plus book, page-progress and review goals.
- Reading Journey
- Book starts, book finishes and saved Margins, in chronological order.
RUNU records what you tell it. There is no automatic progress sync from a Kindle or Kobo, no barcode scanning, and no reading time for a session you never recorded — a book you tracked without the timer simply has no session history, which is a perfectly normal outcome.
Already have years of books somewhere else?
Import a Goodreads CSV and map your shelves onto RUNU statuses — see how the import works. Imported books arrive without sessions, because none were ever recorded.
Questions
- What is a book tracker?
- A book tracker is an app for keeping a record of your books: what you own or want to read, the status of each one, how far through you are, and which ones you've finished. RUNU also keeps the reading sessions you recorded while reading each book.
- What can I track about a book in RUNU?
- Its reading status, the page you're on and your percentage progress, the dates you started and finished it, the reading sessions you recorded for it, your rating and review, and any private Margins you saved beside it.
- Can I track books I want to read?
- Yes. Want to Read is one of RUNU's reading statuses, so a book can sit in your library long before you open it. You can also group books on custom shelves however you think about them.
- Can I track reading progress and reading sessions?
- Yes. You update the page you've reached, and RUNU works out the percentage when the edition's page count is known. You can also record a timed reading session and end it on a page — each session is kept as its own dated record, with its duration and the pages you advanced.
- Can I import books from Goodreads?
- You can import a Goodreads CSV export and map your Goodreads shelves onto RUNU statuses. RUNU doesn't connect to or sync with your Goodreads account, and an imported book arrives without reading sessions, because none were ever recorded.
- Does RUNU track my reading automatically?
- No. RUNU records what you tell it: the page you reached, and the sessions you start or add by hand. It doesn't read your Kindle or Kobo, and it never invents reading time for a book you didn't track.
